Dimitri Atanassov, Cremona 2018 Restoration
This violin was stored in a branded case made using natural biodegradable fibers, and was stepped on by a child.
It was severely damaged, with huge cracks on the top plate, and cracks on bottom plate near the end block but luckily no soundpost crack.
All the cracks were put back together, with 9 patches, 24 support cleats, and a new bass bar installed.
The restoration took approximately 3-4 months. The violin sounds at least as good as it was before it was damaged. The remaining imperfections are all cosmetic, and can be restored to its original state (owner requested a rush job).
Many famous violins, including those by Stradivarius and Guarneri Del Gesu have undergone massive restorations as well. As long as the violin is restored well by a good luthier, a restored violin will have no problems arising from previous damages.

A custom mold was made to allow for the closure and repair of the cracks.
